Skiing For Schools

If your school is looking for an outdoor activity that the pupils will enjoy and will enhance your school's curriculum, while promoting health and wellbeing, then contact us for more information on our schools programme.

The Ski Club has a long association with schools, providing pupils with ski instruction and practice facilities. The best skiers learn to ski at an early age. It is a skill which the individual will value all their lives, enabling them to enjoy winter holidays with their families and friends. Or being ready to ski if they are ever studying or working abroad near ski resort.

This is a worthwhile competence that young people can learn at Kilternan. The benefits are obvious – learning an enjoyable skill, combined with physical exercise in the healthy outdoors, while mastering an exciting new sport.

Our schools programme runs from September to May. The Club is open for schools classes between 10.00 & 17.30 Tuesday to Thursday. School group classes are 75 minutes long, and allowing time to kit out and return gear, the overall visit is about 2 hours.

The Ski Club provides skis, boots and poles for each pupil at no extra cost.

  • Each pupil must bring gloves and wear warm, flexible clothing. Waterproof clothing should be brought in case of rain as classes go ahead regardless of weather.

  • A teacher or designated responsible adult accompanying the group must be at the Ski Club during the entire session.

  • Please let us know in advance the number of participants and whether all pupils are beginners or if any have skied before.

  • Also please let us know if any pupil has a physical or learning difficulty which could affect his/her skiing and we will do our utmost to accommodate them.

  • The Ski Club’s indemnity form available here, must be signed by a parent or guardian for each pupil and presented on arrival.
