IASI ALPINE LEVEL 1 SKI INSTRUCTOR

The TY IASI level 1 Instructor Training programme at the Ski Club of Ireland gives Transition Year students, who are competent skiers and enthusiastic learners, an opportunity to gain a fascinating new skill and achieve a qualification as a Ski Instructor that can open lots of possibilities going forward. (Can be completed as part of GAISCE Award)
This year’s programme runs from 6th September to 13th December 2023 on Wednesday afternoons. There are 16 places with potential to add another 8 places. This is a popular course which will sell out quickly. Early booking is recommended! email info@skiclub.ie website www.skiclub.ie
Details
- Programme Dates – see below. All elements of the course are mandatory, and participants will need to attend all dates on the programme calendar.
- Shadowing: In addition to the calendar dates, all students will be required to undertake 20 hours of ‘shadowing’ classes with a qualified instructor at the Ski Club. This can include kinder classes, beginner series, ski camps, classes at weekends and weeknights.

Pricing for the programme is as follows:
- Course €600.
- IASI associate membership required - €40. https://iasisnowsports.ie/membership/
- Season Ticket required €195
- Resit programme €190 (€90 for 4 lessons & €100 resit assessment)
Transition Year (TY) Programme Autumn 2023
- Attendance at the Pre-Assessment is required to assess if TY candidate is suitable for the programme.
- A parent or guardian is required to attend with each student for the introductory evening.
- Proof of IASI Associate Membership application to be provided before the start of the course.
