Our Classes

At Ski Club of Ireland, we offer ski classes tailored to suit every individual, whether you’re a complete beginner, looking to learn with peers, or part of a group seeking a shared, fun  experience.

Learn to ski in a fun, friendly, and professional environment.

Our Skiing Classes at the Ski Club of Ireland are designed to give you a confident and enjoyable introduction to skiing and a focus on progression.

Using Snowflex and Dendix surfaces, classes are taught by experienced instructors who follow the internationally recognised IASI (Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors) syllabus, ensuring that you learn using the same techniques taught in top ski resorts across Europe and North America.

Adult Classes

Never skied before? No problem.
This four-class series will introduce you to:

  • How to use your equipment properly

  • Basic balance, sliding, and stopping

  • Snowplough turns

  • Using the travellator and button lifts

By the end of the series, you’ll have progressed from our beginner Snowflex slope to the intermediate slope and be ready for your first ski holiday or Improver-level sessions.

When: Weeknights (Mon/Fri at 20:00) and weekends (Sat/Sun at 11:00 & 15:00)

Already got the basics? Time to sharpen your skills.
If you have completed Beginner levels 1 to 4 or skied before, these classes help you:

  • Refine your turns and edge control

  • Increase confidence on steeper terrain

  • Improve lift technique and rhythm

  • Begin carving techniques

Lessons take place on the intermediate or main slope. These are perfect if you want to feel more comfortable before your next holiday or move towards advanced sessions.

Comfortable on all slopes? Let’s fine-tune.
Advanced skiers can join practice sessions and ski clinics focusing on:

  • Advanced parallel and carving

  • Control at higher speeds

  • Terrain variation and steeper slopes

Adult 4-Week Ski Course

Progress with confidence, guided by professionals. Our Adult 4-Week Ski Course is the ideal way to start or improve your skiing in a structured and supportive environment. Whether you’re just coming out of a beginner class or returning to the sport after time away, this course helps you build confidence, refine your technique, and prepare for the slopes, whether here in Kilternan as part of your sport regime or abroad on a ski holiday. The course runs over four consecutive weeks on a “use it or lose it” basis, with one 90-minute session each week. You’ll be grouped with others at a similar ability level and guided through a carefully paced program that builds week-on-week. Across the 4 weeks, you will work on becoming more comfortable on blue or red runs, get ski-holiday-ready, or perfect the skills you learned on your holiday when you are just back, these courses give you the tools and time to make it happen. When: Only available – September, October & March Duration: 4 x 90-minute lessons over 4 weeks Equipment: Skis, boots and poles included Follow-on options: Next Level Classes, Practice Sessions, or Recreational Racing Places fill quickly, so early booking is recommended. Freestyle Practice at Ski Club of Ireland

Looking to try something new, develop fresh ski or snowboard skills, or just have fun with friends? Our Freestyle Practice is all about enjoying the park in a relaxed, supportive environment.

  • Suitable for competent parallel skiers and snowboarders.
  • From age 15+ as long as you can ski in control.
  • Helmets are obligatory – Please bring your own helmet.
  • Freestyle Practice usually runs on Wednesday evenings (Check timetableno sessions in January/February).

Freestyle Nights at Ski Club of Ireland

Looking to try something new, develop fresh ski or snowboard skills, or just have fun with friends? Our Freestyle Nights are all about enjoying the park in a relaxed, supportive environment.

  • No structured lessons, but regulars are happy to offer tips and demos.
  • Suitable from age 15+ as long as you can ski in control.
  • Beginner-friendly features with minimal risk and more advanced options for experienced riders.
  • Learn by watching, joining in, and experimenting with jumps, rails, and tricks.
  • Helmets are obligatory – the Ski Club does not supply Helmets.
  • Freestyle Nights usually run on Wednesday evenings (no sessions in January/February).

ADULTS

Whether it’s your first time snowboarding or you’re looking to refine your skills, our Adult Classes provide the ideal environment for learning and progression.

Beginner Lessons

New to snowboarding? Join a scheduled beginner lesson and learn alongside others starting their journey. We will provide all the equipment you need and guide you through the basics on our Snowflex slopes with user-friendly Travellator lifts. Over the course of four lessons, you will develop essential skills, including speed control, basic turns, and lift use, helping you feel confident for your next holiday.

Improver Lessons

For those with some experience, Improver Lessons are perfect for enhancing technique, mastering linked turns, and building confidence on steeper terrain. These sessions help you refine your skills and stay fit for the slopes.

Important Information

All participants must complete a Waiver.  Under-18s require a parent or guardian to complete the waiver on their behalf.
