Your First Visit
First time at The Ski Club ? Start here !
At the Ski Club of Ireland, we aim to make your visit seamless, enjoyable, and memorable. Our friendly and experienced team will get you ready.
Before you arrive make sure to:
- Register online.
- Complete the waiver during registration, can be found here: https://bookings.skiclub.ie/FamilySignUp
- Book in to your class.
- Make sure you have your booking confirmation email.
Arrival and Check-In
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your scheduled lesson.
If it is your first time at The Ski Club please make sure to check in at Reception
Getting Fitted for Equipment
After check-in, you will head to our equipment area, where our team will help you get fitted with your ski boots, skis/snowboard. We provide everything you need, including skis, poles and boots or snowboards
Meeting Your Instructor
Once equipped, you will meet your instructor. Your instructor will provide a brief overview of what to expect during the session and ensure everyone is comfortable and ready to begin.
Your First Lesson
If this is your first ever ski lesson your lesson starts on our Beginner slopes, designed to provide a smooth and forgiving surface for beginners. You will start with the basics, including how to balance, stop, and control your speed. As you progress, you will learn foundational skills such as turning and using the Travellator lifts. The pace is tailored to your comfort level, and your instructor will provide guidance and encouragement.


What To Bring For Your First Visit

What to wear on the day of the lesson:
- Warm, flexible clothing that does not restrict movement.
- Strong Gloves (compulsory, ideally padded ski gloves).
- Long, thick socks and long sleeved top.
- Wet weather gear as classes will still proceed if it rains.
- Helmets are obligatory if doing Freestyle. The Ski Club does not supply Helmets.
What To Bring For Your First Visit
- Warm outdoor clothing: Dress in layers for warmth and flexibility.
- Gloves: Essential for protection and grip.
- Waterproofs and long-sleeved tops: Stay dry and warm in all weather.
- Comfortable, flexible attire: Ideal for skiing or snowboarding movements.
- Sturdy footwear: Suitable for walking around before fitting into boots.
- Helmets are obligatory if doing Freestyle. The Ski Club does not supply Helmets.
When and How to Book Your Visit
Session Timings: First-time lessons are available during weekday evenings and weekends. Check our schedule online for exact timings.
Safety Guidelines and Waivers
At the Ski Club of Ireland, the safety of all participants is our top priority. We adhere to strict safety guidelines to ensure that the risk of injuries, both to oneself and to others, is kept to a minimum. All participants are required to sign a disclaimer before engaging in any activities.

- Registration: All participants must complete our Registration form and make sure to complete the disclaimer when you receive the email to do so prior to taking to the slopes at Kilternan.
- For Under-18s: A parent or guardian must complete the registration form and sign the disclaimer for participants under 18 years old.

STUDENTS
The Ski Club of Ireland has a strong connection with universities and colleges across the country, offering students a unique and exciting way to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Weekday evening sessions and special Saturday apres-ski jam sessions provide the perfect mix of fun and skill-building for skiers and snowboarders alike.
Inter Varsity Competitions
Each year, inter-varsity races bring colleges together for thrilling competitions in December and March, creating an electric atmosphere as teams showcase their skills on the slopes.

With tailored lessons and flexible packages, we ensure everyone has an unforgettable experience on the slopes.

Skiing and snowboarding are fun, inclusive activities that suit all ages and abilities. Whether it’s a company social, school trip, or family outing, our flexible packages ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Classes for All Levels
We offer group lessons during the week and on weekends, catering to beginners and advanced participants alike. For snowboarders, dedicated classes run on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings. Groups can also try one-off sessions designed for first-time skiers and snowboarders.
