What Is IASI Instructor Training?
The Irish Association of Snow Sports Instructors (IASI) provides internationally accredited ski instructor qualifications that are recognised across the world. Training at the Ski Club of Ireland means you’ll learn under experienced coaches, develop your technical understanding, and gain real on-slope teaching experience.
Our courses are delivered in a friendly and professional setting, offering the perfect blend of coaching, practice, and assessment.
IASI Ski Race Coach – Level 1 Training
Dates: 11, 12 & 18 October
This course focuses on developing your technical skiing performance and understanding of how to coach effectively within race training environments.
You’ll work on:

Skiing confidently within set corridors, couloirs, and slalom distances.

Understanding strategies to improve personal performance within gates.
-
Demonstrating short, rounded turns using progressive ski rotation and carving techniques.
-
Maintaining control, rhythm, and clean turns on blue terrain.
-
Showing strong upper and lower body separation for balance and control.
IASI Level 1 Adult Ski Instructor Course
Dates: Friday 21 & Sunday 23 November, and Friday 28 & Sunday 30 November 2025
(Part 2: Assessment – two weekends, usually held the following spring)
The Level 1 Course is ideal for confident parallel skiers who want to start their journey toward becoming a licensed Level 1 Ski Instructor.
Minimum Requirements:

Confident parallel skier.

Club Membership or season ticket (for access to unlimited members’ practice).
This course combines technical development with instructor training and prepares participants for hands-on shadowing and teaching experience.
IASI Level 2 Adult Ski Instructor Course
Dates: 22 & 23 November 2025 or 21 & 22 February 2026
The Level 2 Course builds on everything learned at Level 1 and prepares candidates for more advanced teaching roles. You’ll focus on refining technique, deepening your understanding of movement analysis, and mastering coaching methods for a wider range of students.
Minimum Requirements:

Qualified IASI Level 1 Alpine Ski Instructor.
