Paddy's Walks starting 7th June
“Paddy's Walks" will by popular demand start on June 7th and all are welcome. These evening strolls will lead up the winding paths to the high peaks of Three Rock Mountain, Two Rock Mountain, Fairy Castle, Tibradden Mountain and sometimes further afield.
We meet on Wednesday evenings at Kilmashogue car park 7.15 pm to start walking at 7.30 pm.
Kilmashogue car park is situated close to the entrance to St Columbus College which is not far from the back entrance to Marley Park.
The walks are typically 2.5 to 3 hours long. Strong shoes are needed as although most of the walks are on forest tracks, these are uneven with loose rocks and sometimes we go "off piste" into open mountain or rough terrain. Typically, the route ends in some local hostelry for video analysis and to plan next week’s route or just to quench our well-earned thirst and solve the world’s problems!
The walks are not weather dependent, we walk even on damp & grey evenings, after-all we’re waterproof.
To get there:
Take the newish road (College Road) that runs parallel with the M50 and with the back entrance to Marley Park on your Right-Hand Side. At the bottom of this road one meets a "T" junction with Whitechurch road, go LEFT under the M50 to meet a Round About, take the 1st exit off the Round-About up Kilmashogue Lane.
The entrance to St Columbus College will be on left at the start of this narrow road. Travel uphill along this road for aprox 1Km and Kilmashogue car park is on the LEFT just after a tight bend.
